Wilbert joined Glycostem as CEO in June 2025. 

Previously Wilbert served in different roles at Charles River Laboratories (CRL), the premier leading preclinical CRO in the world.  

Wilbert graduated from Vet school in Utrecht, the Netherlands in 1991 and spend 5 years in a mixed veterinary practice with 2 partners. During this period he also served as a clinical veterinarian of NOTOX B.V. to support their preclinical research requiring laboratory animals. After this period he started as Head of Toxicology at NOTOX. In July 2005, when WIL Research acquired NOTOX, he became managing director and kept this role also when CRL acquired WIL Research, 10 years later. Another 2 years later he assumed the role of leading their global Discovery unit. After 5 years he moved to the strategic group within CRL to support the 4Rs initiative, transition from in vivo to alternative test systems and methods.
